THE MAKER

Meet Maura

Maura is a NYC chef, trained regenerative farmer, and small business owner guided by principles of community engagement and enlightened hospitality. She is passionate about conceiving solutions for a socially just, equitable, sustainable, environmentally conscious food system.

She started her career in 2011 as a sustainability-oriented chef in New York. Her résumé includes Abigail Kirsch Catering Company, The Modern, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and Breads Bakery. She later received her MBA and Masters in Food Studies. She started a food systems consulting practice in 2019, offering business coaching and technical assistance, researching, and teaching around the US.

Working both in hands-on positions and research-oriented roles made the choice clear. Maura wanted to work on a solution to food systems issues that people could taste. Two Napkins was born in her home kitchen one day, when she decided to find a recipe for her farmers market haul that would be craveable.

The Pedigree Behind the Pesto

Michelin-Starred Kitchen

Maura's culinary training includes time cooking at Michelin-starred restaurants. The technique, the sourcing philosophy, the obsession with flavor — it all traces back there.

Woman-Owned Business

Two Napkins is 100% woman-owned and operated. That's not a certification — it's a fact we lead with. Representation in specialty food matters.

The Recipe is Hers

Maura creates recipes herself — not a formula handed down by a contract manufacturer. Every jar reflects her palate and her standards.
